Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, on the Bronx) known by his stage namePrince Royce is a Dominican-Americanbachata singer. [1] He started his career when he signed on with Top Stop Music label. His debut album, Prince Royce, was recorded in and released in The album was produced by Sergio George the manager of Top Stop Music.

[2] The album became a success peaking at #1 on the BillboardTropical Albums chart. [3] The lead single from the album, "Stand by Me" is a cover of a song which was originally composed and performed by Ben E. King. The single reached #1 on the Latin Tropical Airplay chart and #8 on the Top Latin Songs chart.

[4] It was announced on September 8, , that his album would become a nominee for a Latin Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Tropical Album". [5]
